Until 2014 Chateau la Diffre was a part of the family (Meffre) who also owned an other old property in Séguret and Chateau la Courançonne in Violès. A lot of hectares but not rentable because lack to do more than own - and sell the crop. In 2013-14 it was time to split up between the heirs. At Chateau Saint Diffre one of the (very) old generation with around 50% of the heir and without own direct heirs called for his godson 28-years-old Michel Bres and asked him if he was ready to give up his carrière as the director of some restaurants in Paris ( I have no prove of that)  and take over the responsability for Chateau La Diffre.
After the split of the Meffre family's possessions Chateau la Diffre covers a total of 99 ha located in 7 different appellations: 6 ha in Rasteau, 25 ha in Séguret, 7 ha in Sablet, 50 ha at Plan de Dieu, 1 ha in Cairanne, 6 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 4 ha of IGP.
