The nicest building in Gigondas Domaine du Clos des Tourelles is situated at at the outskirts of the oldest part of Gigondas. It was constructed just outside the walls of the fortifications in the 17th century. When you leave the village today you will pass the place. At the photo you can se the stone walls along the road sourrounding an area of one ha called the Clos justifying the name Clos in the name of the domain. Le Clos, contains very old Grenache vines.
Above the domain you see remains of the old walls and Hospice du Gigondas, where tasting rooms belonging to the Syndicat are to be found.
