The domain is situated at an altitude of 400 m on a route going out from D90, South of
In the Middle Ages the place was a fortified stronghold
belonging to lords. It was destroyed in the 18th century and from the ruins
raised a provencal farm.
In 1956 the place was purchased by Etienne de Menthon, who planted vines
in suitable fields. A cellar was established in 1981.
Today the responsibility is in hands of his two daughters Sabine and Isabelle.
Monsier la Comte is named in memory of Sabine's and Isabelle's grandfather
Sabine de Menton was the mayor of Suzette 2008-2014. (123 inhab. in 2013)
property covers 35 ha. of vines, 26 ha Beaumes de Venise, 5 ha Gigondas, 1
ha Cotes du Rhone, 1 ha Ventoux and 2 ha Vin de Pays.
