Jacques Meffre is the son of the legendary Gabriel Meffre who from a modest start as the owner of an inherited domain in Gigondas Domaine de la Daysse was able to develope his business to be one of the biggest owners of vineyards in France. His empire covered around 900 ha and a quite big negocinant firm in Gigondas (Gabriel Meffre)
In 1987 Gabriel Meffre passed away and his possessions were diveded between his children.
His daughter Sylvette Brechet got Chateau de Vaudieu and Domaine des Bosquets in Gigondas.
His son Christian Meffre got the domains Chateau Raspail, Chateau de Ruth (sold in 2009), Chateau Saint Jean.
The oldest son Jacques Meffre inherited the domains listed below. Today they are run by Jacques' son Hugues Meffre

The firm's wines are made at Domaine Bois des Dames, which is also the company's administrative headquarter.
