Christophe is the fourth generation of vine growers from the Mestre family.
His father Jacques married a girl from the Michel family, and increased the holdings to 23 ha situated at 12 different lieux-dits of the appellation. In 1969 he started to bottle wines and inspiered by the address of his grandfather's cellar situated at Rue des Sommeliers he named his wine Cuvée des Sommeliers. His heirs have choosen to go different paths.

His son Christophe has his cellar at this place but have changed the domain name to Domaine Christophe Mestre. He has been joined by his sister Veronipue - or has her part of the inheritance included in the production.
They now make wines from 18 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape.
A part (about 50%) of the production is sold in bulk just before bottling.
