Domaine André Mathieu

The estate consists of family vineyards there have been handed over from father to son for more than four centuries.
André Mathieu took over from hist father in 1987.
Until 2015 name of the domain was Domaine Mathieu, and the two brothers Jerome and Andre Mathieu worked here together. 
In 2015 created Jérôme Mathieu his own domain, Domaine de Saje, and the name of Domaine Mathieu was changed to Domaine André Mathieu. 
The domain covers 15 ha. 13 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape and 2 ha of Cotes du Rhone at Le Grès in Orange.
The vines of the domain have a considerable age, and many plots are planted in a time when is was normal with mixed planting of permitted varieties mainly consisting of Grenache. Average age of the vines is 65 years.

Wines

Chateauneuf du Pape
2018: 80% Grenache and 12 other allowed grape varieties. Aged for 14-18 months in foudres.

Chateauneuf du Pape la Centenaire
2017: 85% Grenache, 8% Mourvedre and 11 other allowed grape varieties. The vines used for this wine were planted in 1890 and 1914.
Aged for about 18 months in foudres. 

Chateauneuf du Pape Vin Di Felibre
2015: 80% Mourvèdre, 10% Grenache, 5% Syrah and 5% other 10 varieties.
Aged in new to-3-years-old new barriques for 24 months. 

Chateauneuf du Pape L'Ephémére
2017: Debut. 
Reflet du climat de l’année et de l'inspiration du vigneron . 

Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
2018: 50% Clairette, 40% Grenache Blanc, 5% Bourboulenc,  5% Picpoul.

Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Vin de Felibré
2018: 100% Clairette. Aged in new barrels for 10 months.

Cotes du Rhone Seriziers
2019: 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah.

Cotes du Rhone Rosé Se Sian Acoumpagna
2020: Grenache, Syrah.
