The Grandfather of Jean Paul Daumen acquired the domain in 1905. The production was then sold to negociants. From the 60ties a small amount was bottled mostly for the family and friends. Jean Paul´s father Maxime Daumen built cellars with new foudres to make and bottle more wine. Jean Paul has since 1991 continued the development of the domain, so today it's regarded as one of the best in the appellation.

The domain covers 10 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape, 5 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 5 ha of IGP.
The vineyards of Cotes du Rhone are situated just outside the border of AOC Chateauneuf du Pape - as well as the domain itself.
The vineyards are certified as biodynamique.
