The cooperative receive about 70% of the grapes from the appellation and
produce Vinsobres,
Cotes du Rhone and Vin du Pays.
5 cuvées of AOC Vinsobres are produced:
Cuvée Ambre
Cuvée Grenat
Cuvée Sélection de Terroir
15% aged in barriques, the rest in tank.
Cuvée Emeraude
Aged for 12 months in barriques – old vines.
Cuvée Thérapius
Aged in new barriques for 6-8 months.
The very powerfull Thérapuis is from a Syrah
dominated
blend - together with Grenache - and needs some years in the cellar to be
friendly.
The
oenologs from the cooperative follow the work in the fields of the
producers and advise what they can do to get the best price for their
grapes, when they are delivered after harvest.
The price is depending of the quality of the grapes - four categories. Not
only the sugar level but also the other qualities as age of the vines and
the situation of the parcel from where the grapes are coming.
When such an amount of the wine is produced here it's important for the
new appellation, that the wines have a high quality.
At this cooperative you can deliver all your harvest or nothing.
