This domain situated in Beaumes de Venise
to the South of the town was established in 1988. The forefathers of Jérôme
Bouletin were wine growers in Vacqueyras but when he married a girl from
Beaumes de Venise they decided to settle down at her parents' property. The
fields here were not planted with vines, but they planted the sweet
white grapes used there and built wine cellars at the property.
The total area today is about 33 ha of which 10 ha is AOC Vacqueyras. The other
fields are in Muscat de Beaumes de Venise (6 ha.), Cotes du Rhone (8
ha.),
Cotes du Ventoux (5 ha.) and Vin du Pays (2 ha.)
Since 2009 the vineyards are during conversion
into agriculture biologique.
Vacqueyras
70% Grenache, 16%
Mourvèdre, 12% Syrah and 2% Cinsault/Clairette.
Aged in barrels for 9 months.
Muscat de Beaumes de Venise
Vins doux Naturel is made from Muscat à Petits Grains.
The fermentation is stopped when half of the sugar in the must is
translated into alcohol by adding neutral alcohol (mutage). In this way
the sweetness from the sugar in the wine is kept and the percentage of
alcohol is about 15%.
Ventoux
Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre.
Cotes du Rhone
Grenache, Carignan, Syrah and Cinsault.
Vin du Pays
100% Merlot. Aged for 6 months in barriques.
