In possession of the family are documents from 1692
telling about a very diverted crop at the place, apricot trees, cherry
trees, mulberry trees (for silk worms) olive trees, cerials and of course
vines.
Over time things changed. The olive trees faded away during the winter
1927 and the rest in 1956. This story is like that for most domains in the
area.
Until 1970 all the wine production was sold to negociants, but from that
year Jean Pierre Faraud as the new owner decided to bottle wine with his
own name. Today he is assisted at the domain by his daughter Celine.
20 ha of Vacqueyras belongs to the domain.
Vacqueyras
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10%
Cinsault/Mourvedre.
The ageing takes place in
foudres for about 18 months.
Vacqueyras Blanc
50% Bourboulenc and 50% Clairette.
Vacqueyras Rosé
35% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 30% Cinsault.
