In 2004 Valérie
took over from her parents Mesmin og Maryse
Castan who had been foreseeing to name the domain after her when they
started to bottle the wines themselves in 1982.
Valérie who has oenologic education had worked for some years at an
oenological laboratory in Chateauneuf du Pape from where she had got
some experience. She is married to Michel Collomb who has vineyards of
his own, Domaine du Clos d’Alzan,
in Rocheford du Gard. His wines are made in the cellars at Valériane.
Domaine de Valériane is covering 40 ha. A part of the
production is sold to negociant.

2006: 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah. Syrah is aged in barriques.
