The property covers 22 hectares of which 17 are located in Seguret and 5 ha in IGP-area.
The domain was previously called Domaine des Pialons and was until summer 2015 owned by Eric Verdeau who had tried to sell the property
for some years.

ew owners since the summer of 2015 are a Chinese investor in a joint venture with Clovis Wines, a French negociant firm specializing in sale of wines from southern France to the East Asian market.
The owner of Clovis Wines Pierre Alain Morel is the directeur général for Clos du Palay. Before he in 2012 created Clovis Wines he was the director of the cooperative in Orsan for several years. The oenologist Philippe Cambie has the main responsibility for winemaking

Cotes du Rhone Village Seguret is sold with the name Domaine du Clos du Palay when Cotes du Rhone and IGP-wines are markedet by the name Fleur du Palay.
Conversion in to agriculture biologique started in 2015

When investments in vineyards and cellar meet the wisches for making top wines it will be time for restoring the mainbuilding and establish chambres des Hôtes and a restaurant  "L'objectif est de créer un site oeno-touristique haut de gamme, avec la réhabilitation des bâtiments existant en une douzaine de chambres d'hôte dont deux suites et un restaurant haut de gamme" (Jean-Pierre Morel)
