Walter McKinlay used to live in rainy Aberdeen, Scotland. The family wanted to change stile of life and decided to be wine growers in sunny Provence.
After having sold his business in information technology he bought  
17 ha. of vineyards in the "mountains" between Seguret and Vaison. 
In 1998 he built new cellars and purchased further 8 ha. in 2000.

Since 2000 Sebastien Magnouac has been responsible for the wine making. Quote from the web site of the domain "As well as being a talented winemaker Sebastien has provided the non-native members of the Mourchon team with an invaluable insight into the mysterious machinations of French bureaucracy and enterprise."
The daughter Kate and son-in-law Hugo Levingston are participating in the work at the domain.

65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Carignan. Matured in cement tank.

Cotes du Rhone Village Seguret Grande Reserve
65% Grenache og 35% Syrah. (60-years-old vines) Yield: 20 hl/ha.
60% aged in cement tank and the rest in barriques for 9 months.

Cotes du Rhone Village Seguret Family Reserve (Grenache)
100% Grenache (60-years-old vines) Yield: 15 hl/ha.
Maceration in open demi-muids. Then ageing in demi-muids or barriques for about 10 months.

Cotes du Rhone Village Seguret Family Reserve (Syrah)
100% Syrah (60-years-old vines) Yield 15 hl/ha.
Vinification in small steel tanks and ageing in barriques for about 10 months.

Cotes du Rhone Village Seguret Rosé Loubié
40% Cinsault, 30% Grenache and 30% Syrah.

Cotes du Rhone
80% Syrah and 20% Grenache.
