The father of Elodie Balme has always delivered the
grapes from his 28 (now 22 ha.) to the cooperative. Elodie has attended
the wine school in Orange and has for a period learnt practical things
about wine making at Domaine Richaud in Carianne. She wanted to make her
own wines.
Her father might not be so interested in this, but he has let her get
(at first 4) 6 ha. of his vineyards, and then she can prove what she can
do.
Her first vintage was 2006. In 2009 her new cellars
are soon finished and she now makes wines from 2 ha. Rasteau, 3 ha.
Cotes du Rhone and 1 ha. Vin du Pays.
Wines (2008):
Cotes du Rhone Village Rasteau
80% Grenache and 20% Syrah.
Cotes du Rhone
85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5% Carignan.
Vin du Pays
65% Grenache, 20% Merlot and 15% Carignan.
