The family Charavin has been and are a widespread family in the area around Rasteau. The forefathers of Didier Charavin have been wine growers for 4 generations. Didier Charavin took over this domain in 1985 until then called Papillon. At that time the whole production was brought to the neighbour, the co-operative. Didier Charavin decided to vinify and bottle some of the wine himself, and Domaine Didier Charavin was created and cellars built. Some of the production (30%) is still delivered to the co-operative.
Charavin owns 50 ha, 44 in Rasteau and 6 ha in Roquemaure (AOC Lirac)

Cotes du Rhone Village Rasteau
A blend from 65% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Price 6,80€ (2008)

Cotes du Rhone Village Rasteau Cuvée Prestige
Made from 30 - 40% Syrah and the rest 50 years old Grenache.
The wine is aged for 6-9 months in demi-muids. Price 7,80€ (2006)

Cotes du Rhone Village Rasteau Les Parpaïouns
Is made from a blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. Price 10,40€ (2006)
