The co-operative was established in 1925. Today wines from approximately 700 ha
are vinified at the co-operative.
Approximately 80 wine growers sell all or part of the yield to the co-operative.
98% of the vinified wine comes from AOC-areas, Cotes du Rhone 35%, Cotes du Rhone Village 10%, Cotes du
Rhone Village Rasteau 50% and Rasteau Doux Naturel 5%.
The co-operative has bought Domaine de Pisan with
15 ha. and since 2006 the wines from this domain is made separately and sold
with the name.
In 2006 a new brand was created "ORTAS", to make it easier to
consumers to recognize the wines. "OR": gold. "T": the
central letter in the word Rasteau. "AS": ace.
