In 1973 the co-founder of  the Accor hotels Paul Dubrule bought a small sheep farm in Curcuron. There was also a few ha. of neglected vineyards.
In 1996 Dubrule stepped back from the frontline of his business and something seriously happened at Cavale. More land was bought, new cellars were constructed and vineyards were replanted. Also in 1996 Jean-Paul Aubert became the manager of the domain.

Today the domain covers 56 ha. of vineyards of which 6 ha are with white varieties.
