The mansion at the domain is from the 17th century
It's  built at a place where a Roman villa was situated.
Roman underground water canals are crossing the vineyards.
The place has been in possession of the family for more than 200 years.
When Martine and Jean-Pierre Margan took over after Martine's parents in 1974, the vineyards had been neglected for 20 years because they didn't find it profitable to grow the grapes.
Nearly all the vineyards are terrassed, so it was quite a job to re-establish them. Jean-Pierre Margan had an oenological education and knew what had to be done. From 1978 the production started again.
The vineyards of 42 ha. have been certified agriculture biologique for more than 30 years. "(avec quelques principes de biodynamie)."
The yield is kept below 30 hl./ha.
Jean-Pierre's daughter Nathalie has also had an oenological education and she is making more and more decisions at the domain.
