For
five generations the Meunier-family has made wine at the place. Since 1990
the domain has been run by Jean Baptiste
Meunier. The name of the domain refers to an old wind mill nearby and
the lieu-dit Gardette.
The domain covers 9 ha of Gigondas.
From 2012 the vineyards will be certified agriculture biologique.
Petite
Gardette
Made from young vines, Grenache and Syrah.
Cuvee Tradition
80% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre and 10% Cinsault.
The
wine is matured for 18 months in cement tanks - 10% for 12 months in barrels
The age of the vines are: 20-60
years.
Cuvee Ventabren
70% Grenache (very old vines), 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault.
Ageing for 13 months
in barrels and then for 6 months in tank.
Gigondas
Cuvée Zoë
From the best part of the harvest in good vintages
Age for some years before bottling.
Named after a daughter. Debut 1998 when Zoë was born
Cuvée
Marie-Elizabeth Morawetz Rosé
Made from must from the Cuvée Ventabren-tank with Syrah and Cinsault,
running
from the tank a few hours after start of the fermentation.
