Yves Cherons' father, Denis Cheron,
moved from Bourgondy to Vacqueyras in the 1960-ties and here he
purchaced a negociant firm, Cave du Grand Comtadiné. One of his
suppliers was the owner of Domaine du Grand Montmirail, and when he
wanted to retire he sold the domain to Denis Cheron. In the 1980-ties
his son Yves Cheron took over after finishing wine school in Beaune.
The
domains' own vineyards covers 46 ha.: 35 ha. Gigondas,
7 ha. Vacqueyras, 2 ha. Beaumes de Venise and 2 ha. Muscat de Beaumes de
Venise.
The fields in Gigondas are among the highest situated in the
appellation in an altitude of 300-350m.
the
names of the wines from Gigondas counting for the main part of the
production can vary and the names may be chosen in cooperation with
the importer (Example:
"The cuvée Les Deux Juliettes is named after
the daughters of the producer (Yves Chéron) and the importer
(Charles Neal), who both have young girls named Juliette.")
Negociant wines are also made. They
have the brand
"Pascal".
The name of the supplier may also be used.

75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5%
Mourvedre.
Vacqueyras
65% Grenache, 25%
Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
