The domain has been handed over from
generation to generation.
Jean Paul Autard has been leading the family fields since the age of
17.
New suitable and fine cellars were established in 2005.
The property owns 13 ha. AOC Chateauneuf
du Pape and some ha. in Cotes du Rhone.
The wines:
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
From 1 ha. with equal parts of Grenache Blanc, Clairette and
Roussanne.
Fermented and aged in barrels.
Chateauneuf du Pape
From 11 ha. with 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Counoise.
Aged for about 14 months in barriques.
Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée La Côte Ronde
From 2 ha. with very old (75-100 years) Grenache and Syrah, half
and half, small quantities of other grapes in the mixed planting.
This cuvé is aged in new barriques for about 18 months.
Chateauneuf du Pape Juline
Cuvée Juline is named from the names of the two children Jules and
Pauline. It was made for the first time in vintage 2006 from 50% Grenache
and 50% Syrah.
The vinification is rather special. The fermentation takes place in
barriques, where the end piece is removed.The barrique is of course put
upright and the fermentation is taking place here. When the fermentation
has finished the end piece is put on again and the ageing takes place here.
Cotes du Rhone
70% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 15% Counoise.
Aged in tank.
