Sister and 2 brothers, Dominique, Baptiste and Laurent Grangeon
are as the third generation in front of the domain today. It was founded by
their grandfather Etienne Grangeon in 1942.
Both the grandfather and the father, Alain Grangeon,
sold the production in bulk.
When Baptiste took over he started to bottle the
wines at the domain from vintage 1999.
The name Cristia comes from a lieu-dit, which is neighbouring lieu-dit Rayas.
Today the total area with wines is 21 ha. 12 ha Chateauneuf du Pape, 1 ha Cotes du Rhone Village, 4
ha Cotes du Rhone and 4 ha Vin de
Pays/Vin de Table.
The vineyards are certified agriculture biologique by ECOCERT
since vintage 2008.
Chateauneuf du Pape
2009: 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. The average age of the vines are 50
years.
Matured in cement tanks for 18 months. Around
36.000 bottles.
Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Vieilles Vignes
Is made from 1 ha of sandy soil with 100% Grenache-vines, 70-80 years old.
The ageing takes place in 2-3 years old barriques.
3.000 bottles are made per year and the yield is 20-25 hl./ha.
Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Renaissance
2009: 60% Grenache (100-years-old) 40% Mourvedre.
Grenache aged in 2-3-years old barriques and Mourvedre in new barriques
for 18 months.
The yield is about 20-25 hl/ha. and 6.000 bottles are normally made.
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
2010: 40% Clairette,
40% Roussanne and 20% Bourboulenc.
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Grenache
100% Grenache Blanc from 50-years-old vines.
Aged for 8 months in new barriques.
Cotes du Rhone Village
2010: 80% Grenache og 20% Syrah.
Grenache is aged in cement tank and Syrah in 2-3-years-old barriques for 6
month.

2010: 100% Grenache. 50-years-old vines.
