Patrick Lesec is a big negociant firm. It has not vineyards of its own. Patric Lesec owns a restaurant in California and saw, that the French wine producers could not satisfy the costumers' wishes. Then he decided to do something about it. He went back to France about 1990 and started finding producers all over France, but mostly in the Rhone area, who agreed in his philosofy about winemaking. If they could make the wines then he could sell them in USA and Canada.

In the Patrick Lesec Selections portfolio, there are three categories of products:

  • Estate wines where Patrick consults on wine making and the wines are bottled under their own labels;
  • Negociant wines where Patrick produces wines at individual estates and bottles them under his own label;
  • Other domaines whose style and philosophy are compatible with Patrick's. These wines are marketed by Patrick Lesec Selections and Chemin des Vins under the estate labels.

Chemin des Vins is an American company that handles sales and marketing of the wines from Patrick Lesec Selections.

Many different Chateauneuf du Papes are made under the Lesec umbrella:
