for 5 generations. Didier, Françoise (the winemaker) and Béatrice
manage 43 hectares in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation with
a production of about 140,000 bottles including 10,000 to 15,000 bottles of
Calvaire was founded by the grandparents of the owners today Marie Louise and Alphonse Mayard
pioneers of sales in bottle.
Their sales register (dated
1923) shows a large commercial activity. The base of their domain was 17 ha at
lieu-dit Les Coulets, still belonging to the family.
8 ha at Le Crau are delivering grapes for the signature wines of
Alain Narjoux assists Françoise
in the cellars. He has for 13 years been working in the cellars of Vieux Télégraphe.
Since 2011 Philippe Cambie has been advising Alain and
vinification cellar was renovated in 2010/2011.
