The firm was founded in 1946. 3 generations of the Ferraton family have run the firm until the take over by Chapoutier.
The firm is run as an independent unit. Since 1998 the direction had been going toward organic and biodynamic methods.

Some vineyards in the different appellations in the northern Rhone are owned by the firm.

A range of wines from the southern Rhone are made:

Chateauneuf du Pape Le Parvis
90% Grenache and 10% Syrah/Mourvedre.

Cotes du Rhone Village Plan de Dieu
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan

Tavel
Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre.

Cotes du Rhone Le Samorëns
80% Grenache 15% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.

Cotes du Rhone Blanc Le Samorëns
60% Grenache Blanc and 50% Clairette.
