Christian Benedetti's grandfather Nicolas Benedetti immigrated from Italy in 1930 and married a daughter of a wine grower in Chateauneuf du Pape.
Today Christian's son, Nicolas, after having finished wine school helps his father at the domain. 
The domain owns 3 hectares of Chateauneuf du Pape and 5 hectares of Cotes du Rhone.
Some of the vines are very old - planted just after the Phylloxera, that is more than 100 years.

Since 2000 the domain is certified "Agriculture Biologique"

Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
40% Roussanne, 40% Grenache Blanc and 20% Bourboulenc. Vintage 2005 was partly aged in barriques for some months.

Chateauneuf du Pape
75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault. Aged for some months in barriques. 

Cuvée Larmes Papale is made from the same blend, but the time spent in barriques includes that of the malolactic fermentation. Before alcoholic fermentation the grapes are dried in the sun for some days, a methode called passerilage. The aim is to concentrate the grapes.
