Jean-Paul Bouvachon comes from Northern France. He married a daughter of a champagne producer and was a hotel manager. In 1988 the family decided to start a new life and bought a small property just north of the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation. The main part of the property is about 17 ha. Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Village. Only a small part (less than 4 ha.) is Chateauneuf du Pape. The brand was earlier Domaine de la Patrasse and it is still used because of German costumers.

The blend is dominated by Grenache, but all varieties are there. The vines were planted 1922 and 1933. Mourvedre in 1990.
Maceration and fermentation are made in stainless-steel tanks under control of the temperature. Maturing in concrete tanks for 18 months before bottling. Since 2001 partly matured in oak barrels.

Certified agriculture biologique from vintage 2010.

Wines.

Chateauneuf du Pape
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault.
3/4 aged in tank and the rest in pièces for 9-12 months.

Cotes du Rhone Village
Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

Cotes du Rhone Village La Patrasse
Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Aged for 12 months in barriques.

Cotes du Rhone
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault.

Cotes du Rhone Rosé
Grenache and Cinsault.
