In 1920 the owner of the place Sophie Simian passed away without
having any descendant and the place was bequeathed to a servant at the place Marcelle
Laudret. She was the grandmother of the owner today Jean-Pierre Serguier. The Serguier
name comes from Yves Serguier from a wine grower family in Chateauneuf du
Pape, who married the daughter of Marcelle Laudret.
Jean Pierre Serguier has been the owner since 1981. Thus he is 4. generation of
wine growers and 3. generation at Chateau Simian.
Today the estate has 24 ha. of vineyards. 4 ha. in Chateauneuf du Pape, 10 ha.
in Cotes du Rhone and Cotes du Rhone Village and 10 ha. Vin du Pays.
The domain
is certified agriculture biologique.

2008: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre and 5% Cinsault.
Chateauneuf du Pape Les Grandes Grenachières
d'Hyppolyte
2009: 95% Grenache and 5% other varieties. Planted 1880-1948 18 hl./ha.
Aged in tank or demi-muids
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc
2009: Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Roussanne.
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc La Font d'Hippolyte
2008: 65% Clairette, 20% Grenache Blanc and 15% Roussanne.
Fermented and aged in new barriques or demi-muids.
Cotes du Rhone Village Massif d'Uchaux Jocundaz
2007: 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Aged in 3-years-old demi-muids.
