The history of the domain began in 1920,
when Raoul Raymond, the grandfather of Dany, took over from his father and
rooted up parcels of cherries and planted vines instead. His son Emil
continued in this way. At that time the domain was called Domaine des
Cigalons.
In 1978 Dany married Christian Berthet-Rayne and Emil Raymond turned a
part of the domain over to him and Dany. Domaine Berthet-Rayne was
established parly with rented vineyards.
Since 2003 the daughter Laure has
been working at the domain together with her husband Martial
Capeau and they have now got
the responsability for the winemaking.
