Michel and André Berthet-Rayne are the fourth generation at the domain
established in 1880. The two brothers took over in 1970.
25 ha. belong to the domain. 80% of the production is Cotes du Rhone Village Cairanne.
At some parcels the vines are quite old - up to 110 years.
The vinyards are certified agriculture biologique
since 2011.
Wines:
Cotes du Rhone Village Cairanne Cuvée Tradition
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
12 days of maceration. Aged in cement tanks.
Cotes du Rhone Village Cairanne Cuvée Prestige Castel Mireio
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
Maceration period - 3-4 weeks. Aged in barriques, by which 30% are new and the
rest are used for a few years.
Cotes du Rhone Village Cairanne Blanc Cuvée Prestige Castel Mireio
8 different varieties are used: 25% Clairette, 15% of each of: Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier
and Bourboulenc. Small parts of Ugni Blanc,
Grenache Blanc and Picpoul. Wines from some of the grapes
are fermented and aged in new barriques. Cotes du Rhone
70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. Cotes du Rhone Rosé
50% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Counoise Cotes du Rhone Blanc
