Romain Roches' father Marcel Roche owns 50 ha. of vineyards in Cairanne. He was until 2005 the president of the co-operative and of course he delivers the grapes there.

The young Romain wanted to have an education so that he could make the wines himself. At first he got a BTS from the wine school in Beaune, then some commercial education and finished with a full oenological education from the university in Toulouse.
As a part of his training he went to USA and Australia. He worked for a period at
Chateau Paradis in Provence and here he met Philippe Cambie who he uses as an advisor

From 2009  Marcel Roche has rented 15 ha. to his son, and Romain has been making his first vintage in 2009.
The wines have been made in a rented cellar which has been out of use for a period but after installing of some steel tanks this cellar might be used for some years until there is money available for building a new celler at La Bousquette

The vines at the 15 ha. has an average age of 50 years. A single parcel is 120 years old.

Cotes du Rhone Village Cairanne Vieilles Vignes
