The domain is built at the
remainings from an old monastery. An inscription on a wall from the 8th
century is among the remains.
The ageing cellar of today was a chapel in the 12th century.
In the 1950ties the place came in possession of the Jullien
family. At that time 13 ha. belonged to the property, 5 ha.of them with
vines and the rest planted with olive- or fruit trees. The cold winter in 1956 destroyed these fruit trees and more vines were planted - a common
story which can be told about many properties in the area.
Today the domain is run by Michèle and Guy Jullien. Their son Thomas has
joined them after finishing an oenologic education and as said on the
website of the domain: "New ideas will be
born".
The domain has got more fields and covers today 23 ha. with vines. 15 ha.
is AOC Beaumes de Venise in Suzette and La Rock Alric. 5 ha. in Barroux
and St Hippolyte le
Graveyron is in AOC Cotes du Ventoux and 3 ha. Cotes du Rhone are situated
in
Suzette.
Since 2000 the vineyards are certified agriculture biologique.
