Christian Charmasson, son of a wine grower, founded the small domain (3 ha.) in 1986.
"Vaussières" is the old provencal name for a troubadour. The grandfather of Christian was a good story teller and his name was Balazu.

The fields of the domain are planted with 60% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 5% Carignan, 15% Clairette and 5% Syrah. 

From these grapes a red Lirac and a Tavel are made. The red Lirac is aged barrels of chestnut for 12 to 18 months.
