In 2018 the two cooperatives in Tavel and Lirac merged.
This site will be updated later

In 1937 the cooperative was founded - one year after the birth of AOP Tavel.
In 2013 about 80 producers deliver their grapes to the cooperative
This cooperative are of course specialised in production of rosé wines.
The annual production is around 18.000 hl Tavel from about 400 ha which is answering nearly one half of the production of the appellation.
The total production at the cooperative is around 36.000 hl from 680 ha and counts wines from Tavel, Lirac, Cotes du Rhone and IGP-wines.

A rosé from Tavel is not made by saignée where you use the free run must after a day or two in order to make the must more concentrated for use in other wines. A Tavel is always direct press after 48-72 hours of maceration.
The different cuvées of Tavel illustrate the three types of terrior in the village.
You can eventually learn more from three videos where Laure Poisson-Michel from the cooperative present the three types limestone, galets and sandy soil.
