The domain was created in 1930 and was acquired
by Jean-Claude Garcin in 1994.
At that time the domain covered 40 hectares in Tavel and Lirac. Since then a
cooperation between family members have resulted in accumulation of some more
fields, Domaine Saint-Anthelme (20 ha of Cotes du Rhone), Les Ramières (25 ha
of Lirac, Cotes du Rhone and VDP) and Longval (10 ha of Lirac, Tavel, Cotes du
Rhone and VDP). The result of all this is a family firm, Domains Garcin –
Layouni. All the wines from these fields are vinified and marketed by Domaine la
Genestière. This makes the domain the largest private producer unit in the
area.
